- Post-Doctoral, University of Maryland at Baltimore County, 1995
- Ph.D., George Mason University, 1990
- M.Ed., McDaniel College, 1975

SHORT BIOGRAPHY Raised on a poultry farm in Pennsylvania, Vicki learned that counting eggs and creating graphical charts involved with the business increased her understanding of statistics and numerical senseness ! At Elizabethtown Area High School, she enjoyed all her mathematics classes - because instructions were primarily done on the blackboards. In June 1968, she entered Gallaudet as a new signer and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics in May 1972. Vicki's first encounter with deaf education was at the PSD's York County Day Center where she was a pre-school teacher. She also taught at the Lancaster County Day Center for a brief time before she was appointed as an instructor in the Dept of Math and Computer Science in August 1977. In May 1990, the completion of the dissertation, "The Van Hiele Levels of Geometric Thought and Achievement in Euclidean Geometry among Deaf Undergraduate Students", represented a whole new beginning. There is so much more out there to explore and learn. Her interests lie in statistics, calculus, bike riding, hiking the mountains, and exploring the world.
