SHORT BIOGRAPHY

Herbert Mapes has been a professor in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Gallaudet since 1969. He teaches both mathematics and computer science. He served as the department's chair from 1986 to 2001.

His teaching interests lie in Calculus, Mathematical Proofs, Computer Programming, Computer Organization and Programming Languages.

His interests outside of teaching lie in playing golf and everything Notre Dame.
